DYE VL uses intense pulsed light (IPL) technology, commonly referred to as photofacial, to address pigment/discoloration, red vessels/broken capillaries, hemangiomas, rosacea, acne, and pigmented lesions. The specific light wavelengths target the melanin and hemoglobin in the skin, often called the “browns and reds.” The proprietary In-Motion technique and contact cooling feature maximizes comfort and minimizes the risk of unwanted side effects.

The number of DYE VL treatments needed is highly dependent on the condition being treated. There is little to no discomfort with DYE VL treatments. Some people experience redness for a brief period following a DYE VL treatment and areas of hyperpigmentation/brown will first darken following the treatment, and then lighten as the skin rejuvenates.
At Essence, our experienced providers understand that everyone’s needs are unique. We work closely with each client to create a personalized treatment plan specific to their individual goals. If you have concerns about “browns and reds,” contact us to discuss if Dye VL is the right treatment for you!
Plan for 10-30 minutes for your DyYE VL treatment, depending on the size of the area being treated. When treating hyperpigmentation/discoloration, the areas may first darken and look flakey or like particles of dirt; it is important to avoid picking or exfoliating the area. Following the darkening and sloughing process, the areas will be lightened or even in color with the adjacent skin.
The number of treatments needed for optimal results is very individualized to each person and the condition being treated, as well as compliance with post treatment care. Most people see results following just one treatment, however, 3 to 6 treatments, approximately one month apart, may be needed to achieve desired results.
Following treatment, use of sunscreen on a daily basis, year round, will be important to prolong the results of the treatment. Results are permanent; however, with continued exposure to environmental toxins and the sun, along with the aging process, our skin is always being affected. DYE VL maintenance is typically 2 to 3 sessions per year for most people.
